The first appearance of cement in human history can be traced to about 5,000 years ago.

The currently existing oldest thing made of cement by human beings is the pyramid in Egypt. The cement used at that time was lime and plaster. In other words, the raw lime generated by baking limestone and burnt plaster were used as the adhesive agent in building the stones. When cement is defined as inorganic adhesive agent, this is non-hydraulic cement, which is a live cultural ancestor of current cement.

After that, mortar made of mixture of slaked lime and sand was used in the ancient Greek and Roman periods. At that time, it was known that the mortar mixed with volcanic ash had greater durability, and the volcanic ash from Santorin Island or Pozzuoli region was widely used.

In the 18th century, cement faces a new era along with the technological development.

When an Englishman Smeaton, J. rebuilt the Eddystone lighthouse in 1756, he discovered that when baking limestone with clay, it would have excellent hydraulic property, and thus invented hydraulic lime.
J. Packer (England) invented roman cement with the same principle in 1796, and Vicat, L.J. invented natural cement by mixing and burning limestone and clay. After that, the limestone with proper clay component was called as a ‘cement rock’, and roman cement made of cement rock was widely spread and improved.

In 1824, an English brick worker Aspdin, J. invented and patented a method to fabricate cement in which he baked limestone and clay. This cement was named as ‘Portland cement’ because it was similar to the stones produced in Portland in England.

This is the origin of current Portland cement.

Over 20 years since then, the cement manufacturing method has been improved and studied. Johnson, I. C. (England) laid the foundation for cement manufacturing chemicals by discovering manufacturing conditions including the mixture ratio between limestone and clay and baking temperature.

In 1850, 4 Portland cement manufacturing plants were constructed and began their businesses. In London Exhibition in 1851, its superior quality was widely known and the manufacturing method was spread out all over the world. Thus, the cement industry began to be established in the late 19th century.

In 1862, blast furnace slag cement mixed with blast furnace slag was manufactured in Germany, which became the origin of blended cement. Also around 1907, alumina cement was manufactured with limestone and bauxite as its raw materials in France and U.S.A. Thus, the types of cement were diversified in the 20th century including the development of various functional and multi-purpose cements such as rapid set cement, super high early-strength cement, oil well cement and low heat cement used for oil well or low heat construction work and other cements used for special conditions.

How To Purchase

-The consumer needs to pay to the sales agency of Asia Cement and get the ‘Shipping Request’.
-Bring the ‘Shipping Request’ to the appropriate storage site, front of station or plant to receive the ordered products.

-FOT (Free On Truck), delivery and transportation fees are subject to change depending on plant, storage site and front of station.

Bulk-buying process

How To Purchase

-Those consumers who need limited amount are recommended to purchase through sales agency.
-Those consumers who need continuous transaction may sign a purchase contract with Asia Cement.
-When signing a contract with Asia Cement, a set of documents and collateral are required. The payment should be made by cash or advanced promissory note.

Note

-Required documents: copy of business registration, certificate of corporate seal, alternative to corporate seal, copy of resident registration of representative, copy of certificate of corporate registration
-Collateral: real estate, payment guarantee, guarantee insurance, etc (there is no need for collateral in case of cash transaction)
