Loess is a traditional construction material of Korea. We’ve used it on ‘ondol’ floors and walls to benefit from radiation of far-infrared ray and its anti-bacterial, anti-mold and humidity controlling properties. With our elevated interest in health and wellbeing, the application of Loess is gradually expanding. Because yellow earth retains low compressive strength and is prone to shrinkage, activated Loess is more often used to overcome these problems. Activated Loess is produced by firing high-purity Loess in high temperature to activate clay minerals into amorphous minerals. Activated Loess is environment-friendly and retains high strength and durability.
